Dunckerstraße
When you stay at Dunckerstraße, the beautiful area around Helmholzplatz is just at your fingertips. This is the heart of the northern Prenzlauer Berg. Helmholzplatz is filled with cafés, restaurants and little independent shops.
A little convenience store and a tasty Korean handmade noodle restaurant are only meters away from our apartment.

GETTING AROUND
The train and tram station "Prenzlauer Allee" are only 500 meters away. Here you will find the S-Bahn and the circle train and also the Tram M2.
They will take you directly to:
- the Alexander Platz - 10 minutes.
- the Museum Island with the famous Berliner Dom, Hackescher Markt - 15 minutes
Or with one change of trains to
- Brandenburg Airport (BER) - 35 minutes
- Brandenburg Gate - 20 minutes
- Checkpoint Charlie - 25 minutes
The M10 tram station (Prenzlauer Allee / Danziger Straße) is 700m away and will take you directly to Friedrichshain and the East Side Gallery (15 minutes)
OTHER
The Fedorov Restore Vision Clinic is only 450 meters away from our Dunckerstraße apartments. As it is our closest location to the Fedorov Restore Vision Clinicso, it's the ideal location for patients seaking treatment in Berlin.

Grellstraße
Grellstraße is located in the north east of Prenzlauer Berg and is one of the more residential neighbourhoods of this district. While it has a more authentic, slightly gritty feeling, it has everything you might need for your every day needs right around the corner.
Grocery stores (Aldi and Edeka) and fast food places (Döner, McDonalds) are just around the corner at the main intersection of Greifswalder Straße and Grellstraße. An authentic Bavarian restaurant called "Zur Haxe" and "Café Gold Stück" also just down the street from here.

The train and tram station "Greifswalder Straße" is only 200m away. Here you will find the S-Bahn and the circle train and also the Tram M4.

OTHER
The Fedorov Restore Vision Clinic is only 800 meters away from our Grellstraße apartments, so it's our second best location for patients seaking treatment at the clinic.
The Berlin State Ballet School and Artistic School (Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin und Schule für Artistik) is only 700 meters away from our holiday lets. As such they are the prefect base for families visiting or students commencing their ballet education in Berlin.

Wichertstraße
One of the wonderful things about the location of our holiday rental in Wichertstraße, is the fact that you can comfortably walk to the Mauerpark from here. If you are here on a Sunday and the weather is good, the Mauerpark is a must see, check out also our Markpark walk.
This big park has been extensively renovated in 2019 and is now a beautiful and bustling green space with
several areas which all have a different feel to them. On Sundays there is a big fleamarket and if you get lucky you may get to experience the famous outdoor karaoke.
Around Wichertstraße there are many shops and restaurants and the wonderful Helmholzplatz is only minutes away. If you need to do some serious shopping, the Schönhauser Allee Arcaden are right next to the train station.

Strassmannstraße
The vacation rental is located on Straßmannstraße in the Friedrichshain district.
On the same street as our airbnb you will find a couple of local cafes, bars and restaurants. A little bakery is right opposite of our holiday apartment where you can get fresh buns for your breakfast. 200 meters down the street is “Pomodorino”, one of Berlin’s best pizza joints. It's tasty, quick, authentic and cheap.
Right opposite of Pomodorino is a playground, so on a sunny day you can grab a slice to go and enjoy the sun while watching your children play.
10 minutes’ walk down the main street is “Volkspark Friedrichshain”. This large and popular park, with a fairy-tale fountain, film showings and beer gardens, is a nice place for hanging out in the summer. For those who prefer a more active holiday it offers facilities for jogging, beach volleyball, bouldering and tennis!
Only 100 meters away from the vacation apartment is the tram stop “Straßmannstraße”. The "M10" tram line will quickly take you to the East Side Gallery, the longest still intact piece of the Berlin Wall that has been painted by graffiti artists, and the neighbouring buzzing nightlife areas Simon-Dach-Straße and Revaler Straße with the quirky RAW Gelände.
From the East Side Gallery in Friedrichshain it is only a short walk across the river and you are in the popular Kreuzberg district, which is a great place to look out for street art, hang out in the Görlitzer Park (which locals call Görli), or go out drinking or clubbing.
Taking the M10 in the other direction will take you to the Prenzlauer Berg district with its many restaurants, cafes, boutique shops and its famous Mauerpark flea market with outdoor karaoke and the Berlin wall walk and Berlin wall memorial.
Excellent public transportation connections take you into the Mitte district in about 20 minutes, where you can visit main Berlin attractions such as the Museum Island, the Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) or Hackescher Markt. From there you can walk to the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial and Checkpoint Charlie.

- "Rembrandt Burger" Richard-Sorge-Straße 12. Burger restaurant.
- "Schwimm- und Sprunghalle im Europasportpark" Paul-Heyse-Straße 26. Swimming pool with an Olympic sized pool, directly next to the Velodrom and the S-Bahn station Landsberger Allee.
- "Petersburger Platz" Small park with a playground. Great for sitting down in the sun and enjoying a pizza slice from Pomodorino.
Volkspark Friedrichshain
This 52 hectar park is the oldest park in Berlin, dating back to 1846, and is located on the border of the neighbourhoods Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg. The Fairy Tale Fountain (Märchenbrunnen), which survived World War II, was constructed for the children of Berlin during a rickets and typhoid endemic and contains 106 stone sculptures representing characters from German fairy tales. The park is fun to explore and has two ponds with different birds’ species, beach volleyball courts, an outdoor movie theatre, outdoor drop in yoga classes, a running track, several play grounds, a splash fountain for children and a beer garden for adults, .... At the north end of the park it is isn’t uncommon to hear bands or DJs perform.

The M10 tram stops only a couple of meters away from the vacation rental. The name of the closest stop is "Straßmannstraße".

- Brandenburg Airport (BER) - 35 minutes
- Brandenburg Gate - 25 minutes
- Jewish Museum - 33 minutes
